  1. 500 grams (1.1 pounds) diced beef (such as stewing beef or chuck roast)
  2. 1 onion, finely chopped
  3. 2 cloves garlic, minced
  4. 1 red bell pepper, diced
  5. 1 carrot, diced
  6. 8 ounces (225 grams) mushrooms, sliced
  7. 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  8. 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  9. 2 cups beef broth
  10. 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  11. 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  12. 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  13. 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  14. Salt and pepper to taste
  15. Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
